HOPE Bible Quizzing

A couple times I was told I should do a blog post on quizzing....well here it is. 😊 Thanks to the Hess family for sharing their pictures! All credits go to them.  This year our quiz passage was Ephesians, Ruth, & Proverbs 4. We memorized all these verses which comes out to like 267 verses! Whew!
HOPE Sanctified-  Me, Dawson, & Mariah are on a team together with Lexi coaching us....
HOPE Renewed- Stuart (coach), Andrew, Holly, Carissa
HOPE Promise - Haley answering a question...her other two team mates Sean and Gabrielle had quizzed, out hence the empty chairs!
We got in the same room as Hope Renewed which meant we got to quiz against them!

So far we had a 3 quiz a thons and all the HOPE teams did well. Renewed and Promise even brought home trophies at Regionals! We now look forward to quiz retreat in 2 weeks 😊

Psalms 150

Psalms 150
"1. Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. 2. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. 3. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. 4. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. 5. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord."

Wow- I wouldn't even have to say much about this passage. Jesus ALWAYS wants us to praise Him and I think we need to think about the little things and give Him glory for everything that happens, cause He deserves all our praise.

happy valentines & blogging update

I am sorry to all my loyal blog readers...I've not been doing very well with doing a weekly encouragement. We have been super busy lately, and it is only going to get busier I am afraid. This year I am Bible quizzing with HOPE, and singing in Voices of Praise Homeschool Choir. We had one quiz a thon in January, we have one tomorrow, and another one this month. Last night was our first VOP program, and we have one about every Sunday night until March 19th. In between there we also go on tour for a few days and have quiz retreat. Then the end of March our family is heading to FL for about 9 days. So all that to say, if I am not blogging much till the end of March or the beginning of April, don't worry about me- I'll be back eventually! Since Valentines is this week, I am sharing a verse from Malachi. Jesus has ALWAYS loved us, and ALWAYS will! Have a wonderful week everyone!! And Happy Valentines ♡♥

photo shoot w/ aubree

Over here in our neck of the woods it is gorgeous outside. It's crazy that they are calling for 4-8" of snow tonight into tomorrow, but we will receive it with open hands...we've been wanting snow for awhile! This morning me and Aubree went outside to play, and first off she served me food at the playhouse...then we got her trike out and I decided to grab the camera :-) she wasn't doing such a great job of smiling, but I thought they were cute, nonetheless!

Chocolate Breakfast Muffins

Our family has been eating healthy desserts these days, and we love this recipe (its actually my Aunt Lori's recipe)! I am adding the little tweaks we make to it as well. :) It can either be made into muffins or just put in a 9x13. Its easiest to just put it in a pan, so that is what we usually end up doing.

2 c. oatmeal, ground into flour or oat flour (we just grind up quick oats in the blender)
3/4 c. coca powder
2/3-3/4 c. THM super sweet blend
4 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. sea salt
2 eggs
1/2 c. 0% Greek yogurt (we just use any yogurt we have around)
1 c. unsweetened applesauce
1 c. hot water
a few sugar free chocolate chips (we just use regular ones)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix all ingredients well. Pour in foil cupcakes (or 9x13 pan). Sprinkle as many as desired chocolate chips on top. Bake for 15 minutes (its usually ends up being like 20-25 minutes till we call it done) till toothpick comes out with crumbs on it. Do not under or over bake the recipe says... :/

Let me know if you try it out and what you think!
|excuse the piece out of the corner...I pulled it out of the oven and scooped some out to eat, went and sat down at the table and then I was like oh my word, I was going to take a picture of it. Mom said "oh well, at least it shows that it is good" :-) |
