~autumn~

the leaves are turning into beauty. the hum of equipment runs quite frequently. the air turns chilly and out comes the sweatshirts and beanies. the deer start running and out comes the camo. hopes of slaying the big one are in every hunter's head. It is autumn folks 🍂

Google's definition of autumn is this : "the third season of the year, when crops and fruits are gathered and leaves fall, in the northern hemisphere from September to November and in the southern hemisphere from March to May." and for me, that is quite true. fall on a farm is amazing (can I get an "amen" from you farm girls?) and also very busy. the silos are getting filled, and we drink in the action. the riding in tractors. the working till all hours. the beauty of being able to see again (with all the corn down). whether you know what I mean or not, enjoy fall, wherever you are, and remember today, to thank Jesus for all His blessings! 👏

Amazing Grace \\ John Newton

  1. Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
    That saved a wretch like me!
    I once was lost, but now am found;
    Was blind, but now I see.
  2. ’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
    And grace my fears relieved;
    How precious did that grace appear
    The hour I first believed.
  3. Through many dangers, toils and snares,
    I have already come;
    ’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
    And grace will lead me home.
  4. The Lord has promised good to me,
    His Word my hope secures;
    He will my Shield and Portion be,
    As long as life endures.
  5. Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
    And mortal life shall cease,
    I shall possess, within the veil,
    A life of joy and peace.
  6. The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
    The sun forbear to shine;
    But God, who called me here below,
    Will be forever mine.
  7. When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
    Bright shining as the sun,
    We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
    Than when we’d first begun.

Summer Wrap Up 2017

It's kind of hard for me to admit that summer is over. (Not officially till the 22nd, but still 😏) Some words that describe my summer: fast, chaotic, fun, busy ||
And as a last adios, here are some pictures 😊
- we spent an evening at IKEA and got to eat at their little Swedish restaurant -
- this summer was spent working hard...we still had things to wrap up from the storm and other random stuff that just needed to be done 😉 -
 - there was also time for fun things, like a Sunday afternoon scooter ride with Dad -
- time spent with family is always the best 👌 -
- the corn is so beautiful this year (this is our lane) -
- we have so much to be thankful for because we didn't have near as much rain as those who experienced the hurricanes, but we did have a ton of rain, and had some flooding, as well.  -

- we got to experience the Solar Eclipse...we used a welding helmet and it was so cool! -
- thanks for the ride, dad! -

- a long ago selfie with aubs to end it all! -

Reproof // Proverbs 12:1

(photo creds: Pinterest)

“Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:1‬ ‭
// This verse hits home to me because this subject is something I need to work on.  // I do not like reproof // I'm the kind of person who when I get reproved or do something wrong, I get grumpy. // I want to do things without being told when or how // if I know something needs to be done, I want to do it NOW. That is not wrong. Sometimes the wrong part is the attitude towards it. I go into "get it done mode" and leave others frustrated because it's all I want to do and I want to do it now and get it out of the way. So the moral of the story, to me and you, (whether you're like that or not 😉) is that everything has its time and purpose, ("To everything thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under the Heaven" Ecclesiastes 3:1) and sometimes things aren't going to always do right and we might just be given a better idea or get a scolding. We need to take that wisdom and reproach from those that know different + better than us and then learn from it! //
